The Lilabean Foundation's Vision & Mission

Eradicate childhood brain cancer through collaboration and raising awareness.

The Lilabean Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research (LBF) seeks to fund critical childhood brain cancer research and help raise awareness of the severity of this fatal disease.

Our hope is that LBF will have an extraordinary impact on the lives of the many beautiful children affected by this terrible disease.

Investing in research is the most important first step in moving the needle toward innovative new therapies that make a difference in survival and quality of life for children with brain cancer. LBF helps identify and fund projects at the Brain Tumor Institute (BTI) at Children’s National Health System; and eventually at similar institutions around the country that are dedicated to finding more effective and less harmful therapies for pediatric brain cancer.

40,000 kids have been diagnosed with a brain tumor over the past 10 years. We are here to help fund a cure.

"Children with cancer touch a special place in people's hearts... And yet as a society, we have failed to put our best resources together. Let's start now. We don't have time to waste.”

Andrew Kaczynski, The Washington Post Op-Ed
