​Derek Danek

Derek has a passion for non-profit work and is a leader in the volunteerism efforts of a young professional group at Nationwide Insurance. Since 2017 Derek has organized volunteer events at non-profits around Columbus, Ohio supporting the local children’s hospital, meals-on-wheels and the Furniture Bank. His connection to the LBF mission is through the Purssord family, as he formerly reported to John-Paul and collaborated with him on an internal podcast series. When Derek is not volunteering or spending time with his niece and nephew, he works as a Learning & Performance Specialist for Nationwide, where he designs and develops training assets for associates. Through this work, he has honed his skills in multimedia production and hopes to bring these abilities and his creativity to benefit LBF. Derek is a graduate of The Ohio State University (BS, M.Ed., MLT) and resides in Columbus, Ohio.
