Alexandra Byrnes

Alexandra joined Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking in August 2022 as an Executive Director in the Charlotte, NC office. Alexandra has over thirteen years of finance experience, predominantly working with higher education and nonprofit borrowers. Alexandra began her career in Wells Fargo’s higher education group and then went on to serve as a municipal advisor for higher education and nonprofit borrowers at a large financial advisory firm. In her time at Wells Fargo and on the municipal advisor side, she has supported both public and private higher education clients as well as nonprofit institutions in issuing public and private market transactions as well as working with them on credit and liquidity strategies. Since re-joining Wells Fargo, Alexandra has served as senior manager on nearly twenty transactions totaling over $5.2 billion in par for institutions including New York University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Cincinnati, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and Arizona State University, among others. In 2025, Alexandra was recognized by The Bond Buyer as a Rising Star, given to industry professionals under the age of 40 who have made an impact on their clients and colleagues.


Alexandra has her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with minors in Chinese and German. She currently holds FINRA Series 52, 53, 79 and 63 licenses. Alexandra enjoys spending time with her family, which includes two preschool aged children and a rambunctious dog.
